The Strange Tourist Attraction: A vehicle parked in the same place for 47 years
An antique Lanche car that has not moved even a meter since 1974, has become a source of pride in the Italian town of Coneliano and a center of pilgrimage for tourists.
Why has it been used since the 94-year-old owner and why are they now considering moving it?

An old car that stands in the same place without moving will surely be considered an unnecessary rust pile and emptied at some point, but this is not the case in Coneliano, a town in northern Italy that is 50 minutes away from Venice.
There, a 1970 Lancia Pulvia Berlina model car has been parked at the same spot for 47 years and has become a particularly bizarre tourist attraction.
According to an article in "Gazzatino" in Italy, the old-fashioned blue vehicle in which the signs of the times gave their signals (punctured tires, rust and also mildew) has begun to arouse interest in recent years after it was discovered that it has simply stood still since 1974 and not moved even a meter.
The municipality of Conliano has somehow ignored the hazard for decades and so this parking lot has become a permanent home.

The owner of the car is Angelo Pergolent, a 94-year-old man who sold newspapers at a nearby stall.
He used to keep the newspapers in the car, before opening the stand every working day, and except that he had not used it since 1974. Why did he not move it?
No one knows.
No one also knows why the vehicle is not towed by city officials, as is usually the case with old vehicles that are neglected over time in public space.
Because it did not happen, the vehicle became a kind of local pride for the inhabitants of Conliano and also a source of pilgrimage for tourists.
Now, these parking spaces that are located between the sidewalk and the road are no longer allowed under the rules of the highway.
Following this, the town offered to transfer it to the nearby Lane School, thus making the Lanche the main exhibition of an open-air museum.
