Never three without four.
Or more.
Huge success in theaters where it made this weekend the third biggest start in the history of cinema,
Spider-Man: No Way Home
is already one of the most viewed films of the year, less than a week after release.
This performance concludes the
Spider-Man
film trilogy
for which its main actor, Tom Holland, had signed.
And lets hang the eternal question on the lips of the spectators filled by the film:
"When the next one?"
A question raised by Kevin Feige, the producer and president of Marvel Studios.

"Yes, we are actively starting to develop the continuation of the adventure,"
Kevin Feige said in a Dec. 17 interview with The

. Information immediately confirmed by the producer of Sony Pictures, Amy Pascal, who also pointed out that the finale of
Spider-Man: No Way Home
left, in terms of scenario,
"a lot of leeway to work on the next film"
.
On the production side, all lights are green at Marvel and Sony to continue to dig the lucrative path traced by the three
Spider-Man
films by Tom Holland.
A situation that contrasts with the stormy negotiations of summer 2019, marked by a break of several weeks between Sony and Disney, owner of Marvel Studios.
The disagreement, which arose following the release of
Spider-Man: Far From Home
, had kept fans of the saga in suspense until the signing of a new agreement at the end of September 2019.

A small canvas, however, taints the radiant horizon sketched by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal: that of the availability - and motivation - of Tom Holland.
Showing thirteen feature films since 2016, including six Marvel films, not to mention his work as voice actors, the now 25-year-old actor has hinted that
Spider-Man: No Way Home has
finally released, he might decide to take a break.

“I don't want to say goodbye to Spider-Man, but I feel like maybe it's time to say goodbye to him. I don't want to feel like I'm preventing the next deserving young actor from taking over,
Tom Holland told

In a relationship with the actress and singer Zendaya, with whom he shares the poster for the

, Tom Holland mentioned that it would also be high time to consider, perhaps, a more marked renewal of the cast of this superhero.
"I would like to see a

Before Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire had played Peter Parker, alias Spider-Man, between 2002 and 2007, in a trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. Andrew Garfield had played the role of Spider-Man twice, in 2012 and 2014, under the direction of Marc Webb.
This desire for change is also working a part of the fans of the superhero and had contributed to the critical and commercial success of
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
.
Released in 2018, the animated film featured a Spider-Man played by the character of Miles Morales, an African-American teenager from Brooklyn.
He was accompanied on the screen by other variations of the hero from parallel universes, including a Spider-Gwen and ... a Spider-Pig.
More sympathetic than those of the Covid-19, these variants could well give ideas to Sony and Disney.
And help them to weave the web of the next adventures of the Spider.
