Certainly not a plebiscite, however a rather convinced adhesion, albeit with various nuances.

The proposal, launched by around 200 mayors to introduce the Green Pass obligation also for primary and secondary school pupils - in line with what was established for the university in September -

seems to be welcomed by the recipients of the eventual provision.

According to a survey carried out by the Skuola.net portal - which involved about 1,000 students - almost 3 out of 4 would gladly accept a “filtering” at the entrance of the institutes.

A control that for many children, however, should not result in a vaccination obligation tout court, as happened recently for teachers and all school staff. Only 28% of the sample, in fact, pushes for the most extreme solution:

without a vaccine, no lessons "in person", you stay in Dad

. For 45%, on the other hand, even those who are not immunized should be given the opportunity to enter school, as it may be sufficient to undergo a tampon. In the end, however, only 27% say they are against regardless of any form of control.

But, as mentioned, even within the various camps the positions follow different logics of thought. Among the 100% in favor, in fact, there are those who with their eyes closed support the local administrators promoters of the initiative, arguing that

"if we do not act harshly against Covid, it will never disappear

"Or because it is thought that it is" right that vaccinated children are present and who are not in Dad, given that the latter are more likely to get infected ", or because this would help them live better since" if the whole population were vaccinated we could do a lot of things ”. Someone says, albeit in favor, that softer solutions are sufficient, such as "making sure that we all have at least one dose of vaccine to ensure safety in the school environment" or, in parallel with the invitation to immunization, proceed with

"swabs to periodicals carpet ".

Others, on the other hand, have a more neutral attitude, arguing that it is "exaggerated to put the Green Pass for elementary school children, it would probably be good for high school" also because "the little ones can be vaccinated for a few days, it is right for them to wait" .

There are those who ask to "respect those who, for reasons of health or their choice, do not want to get a vaccine, trying to find alternative solutions"

and who remembers that "a person who swabs himself every week or every two days, always being updated on his state of health, is safer than a person who has the vaccine, who goes everywhere with that but it could be positive". There are also those who propose other recipes, such as "having a month of lessons in Dad, at least for high school, to allow the virus to loosen its grip" or "equip all schools with adequate ventilation systems, ffp2 masks, of do-it-yourself tampons ". .

Those opposed to the proposal, on the other hand, appeal above all to the right to education, which risks being compromised

: "It is necessary for every person to be safe - says a boy - but certainly education cannot be denied to a boy or a child who hasn't had a simple vaccine. The monthly swab is a good compromise to stay safe ". Another student echoes him, saying:

"Education is a good that must be accessible to everyone, it's crazy to limit it to one group of people"

. There are those who do not turn around too much, reiterating that "everyone should attend school regardless of the Green Pass", and those who leverage the age factor, emphasizing that "young people, even without a vaccine, are less likely to develop severe symptoms, therefore they do not occupy places in hospitals, a real concern at the basis of every decision ". But there are also those who, albeit skeptical, try to soften the climate: "The Green Pass - warns a student - is dividing us very much, we need solidarity at this moment, not even more discord".

"It is clear that, with the new picture drawn by the increase in infections, also due to the Omicron variant, our children are expressing the need to feel safe during school hours."

Thus

Daniele Grassucci, director of Skuola.net,

who continues: “The fact remains that the vaccination obligation is still perceived as a novelty within the school walls.

Only from 15 December, in fact, did the obligation for staff begin.

Furthermore, students are well aware of their right to study, which in some cases could conflict with a rule of this type, as already claimed by the principals.

Finally, let us not forget that in many cases students, especially minors, have to submit to the choices and opinions of their parents ”.
