A 39-year-old man from the US state of Idaho is said to have murdered a 70-year-old and then ate body parts of the victim.
According to court documents, the alleged perpetrator said he believed that consuming the victim could "heal his brain."
This is reported by the Bonners Ferry Herald and East Idaho News, among others.
There should have been an argument between the two men in the past.
The 70-year-old was killed on September 10.
The body was found in a truck, body parts were missing.
Blood-smeared microwave
A day later, the 39-year-old was searched.
Body parts were found that could be assigned to the victim.
In addition, a blood-smeared microwave and a knife were found in the alleged perpetrator's apartment.
A police officer from the responsible station told the Bonners Ferry Herald that the act was a shock: "As far as I know, this is the first cannibalism charge in Idaho."
A judge had found the alleged perpetrator to be insane in October.
He is due to appear for a court hearing at the end of December.
