New ovation, with someone who asked for an 'encore', for
Sergio Mattarella
at the Teatro del Maggio in Florence at the end of the inaugural concert of the new auditorium.
The mayor of Florence and president of the Fondazione del Maggio Dario Nardella thanked the Head of State in the hall and together with the Superintendent Alexander Pereira sang 'President, President' from the stage and the whole audience applauded the Head of State in a rhythmic manner. Mattarella wished to greet the archbishop of Florence, Cardinal Giuseppe Betori, then greeted the public and some requests for an encore per seventy year were raised from the audience. Shortly before, the hall had reserved a standing ovation for Zubin Mehta. Mattarella himself stood up to applaud the Maestro.
"President this is your last visit as President of the Republic but come whenever you want with your daughter, this is your home. Beethoven's Seventh Symphony was a request from Mattarella, I did it with all my heart. Have a good trip and thank you from me, my wife and the orchestra ". Thus the maestro Zubin Mehta at the end of the inaugural concert, directed by him, of the new auditorium of the Florentine musical Maggio theater.
THE OVATION AT THE SCALA IN MILAN
- On 7 December when the Loggione della Scala spoke loud and clear asking Sergio Mattarella for an encore at the Quirinale. For the President of the Republic, receiving the ovation of the audience of the Milanese theater is certainly nothing new: it happened during all the premieres of his seven-year term. But this time, a few months after the end of his mandate, at his "last time" at the most prestigious "first" in Italy, that request for the 'bis' takes on a particular meaning, certainly affective but in some way also "political" .
However, it defines the sentiment of most citizens.
It all happened when the audience, all standing, gave a long applause to the Head of State, at his entrance, with his daughter Laura, in the box of honor.
But together with the customary applause, numerous shouts of 'encores' have been raised, such as those who throw themselves at the great artists to invite them to stay on stage to perform again.
