(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 21 - Francesco Giambrone is the new superintendent of the Rome Opera.
The designation, announced several times by rumors, took place at the meeting of the theater's steering committee, which is chaired by the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri.
As per procedure, the designation was then sent to the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini who will be the decree of appointment.
Giambrone, currently superintendent of Massimo di Palermo, succeeds Carlo Fuortes, now CEO of Rai.
