Onions are an indispensable part of the kitchen, but working with them is really no fun.
An onion trick from the net should change that.
Onions add a lot of flavor to a wide variety of dishes.
In order not to break into tears while cutting, various tricks and gimmicks have been invented: put water in your mouth, sharpen a knife beforehand *, cut onions under water.
But one thing above all else is important: you have
to finish cutting onions quickly

The user “mias_secrets” shared a TikTok onion trick on Instagram that amazes.
As befits a proper tip, it is very easy to implement and still has a maximum effect:
Remove the brown, dry outer skin from the onion - but don't throw the onion peels in the trash.
Be sure to leave the onion whole and do not cut off the dried green on top.
Place the onion on a cutting board with the root part down.
Grasp the onion at the base of the stem and
cut it all around with a sharp knife
as if you were cutting very narrow pieces of cake without cutting through the base at the top.
Now put the onion prepared in this way on its side and cut off slices and the onion cubes are ready in record time.

Then you add two equally simple
intermediate steps
.
In the first step, do not leave the onion whole, but cut it in half through the stem and roots.
Place the onion with the cut surface on a board.
Now cut through the onion twice parallel to the cutting board and then lengthways as in step 3 above - both without cutting the base.
If you now cut off slices, the resulting
onion cubes will be significantly smaller again
.
Still not fine enough?
Just cut parallel to the cutting board three times, or as often as the size of the onion allows.
However, this second method is not as easy for you as shown in the video.
You have to hold the onion together a little with your hand so that the individual parts do not slip away.
With a little practice and a sure instinct you will always succeed faster and better.
