The girl was rushed in the morning to the pediatric emergency room at the medical center due to bluishness and significant breathing difficulties she experienced at home, after two days in which she suffered from a fever accompanied by a sore throat and a general bad feeling.

Before being evacuated to the hospital, her family members performed life-saving and life-saving operations on her, and upon her arrival at the emergency room, she was taken to the resuscitation room for supportive care.

The girl was later taken to the operating room and resuscitated following a diagnosis of severe airway edema.

About two months ago, the Ministry of Health reported that during September, a type A flu virus was detected in Israel among seven children and adults, and warned that "Israel may face parallel corona and seasonal flu, and from the first signs there will be flu activity, unlike a previous year."

: Details and data

Type A flu is the most serious flu-like illness, due to the virus that characterizes it which tends to undergo changes in a way that it can replace its gene segments with other viruses.

In this way new strains develop which make it difficult to treat and prevent the disease.

In most cases the disease lasts for two to three weeks, but sometimes a type A flu can suddenly infect a large number of people, and then it is defined as an epidemic.

According to data from the National Center for Disease Control at the Ministry of Health, the number of people infected with the flu identified among patients hospitalized reached 1008 this week - almost double last week, when 578 cases of influenza were identified.

Most of the cases identified belong to the H3N2 type A influenza that is included in the vaccine.

401 of those hospitalized with the flu are children and 70 are pregnant women.

In addition, another 70 cases of influenza were diagnosed in community clinics, and nine cases of death were recorded in patients who were verified of influenza - all aged 75 and over, although they did not necessarily die of influenza.

At the same time, this week saw an increase to a higher rate than the perennial average of those who turn to clinics due to flu-like symptoms.

So far, we have vaccinated about 1.5 million Israelis, who make up 16.6% of the population, against the flu, compared to a vaccination rate of 21% last year.
