After the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Hamburg's city park, the public prosecutor charged eleven young men between the ages of 17 and 21.
As the authority announced, the men are accused of offenses against sexual self-determination.
They are said to have sexually assaulted the drunk youth at night "with different levels of involvement, at different times and in different places."
According to the public prosecutor's office, the 15-year-old was no longer able to object to what happened on the night of September 20, 2020 because she was so heavily drunk.
The public prosecutor speaks of a complex investigation
The teenager was apparently drunk through the park after a private birthday party.
Shortly after the crime, it was said that she came across a group of young men who dragged her behind a bush and raped her.
The suspects are said to have been between 16 and 20 years old at the time of the crime.
The case had caused a sensation in Hamburg.
Prosecutors said the charges required a complex investigation.
The Hamburg District Court will now decide whether to admit the indictment and to open the trial.
