Shortly after 22:00, Jonathan Margie takes to the Barbie stage in Tel Aviv, for two of the two launch shows for "Not Being Alone", his new EP.
The first show was earlier, at 6 p.m., and was intended for teens.
Margie owes them quite a bit of his success, so it only makes sense that he would adapt himself to the generation that made him king.
The 22:00 show is for older adults.
It is preceded by the opening appearance of Shahar Saul, himself a conquering phenomenon.
A warm-up show for an audience that is ready to go up in flames.
Moments before Margie takes the stage, the Barbie is filled with noise and a sense of alertness.
Maybe it's because it's a singer who has not yet celebrated 22 years of existence, but is already one of the biggest stars in the country right now.
When he goes on stage he sings "Not to Be Alone", and there is hardly a person in the club who does not join in the singing.
For a moment there is a feeling that this is a foreign performance. It is not certain that Justin Bieber himself would have been more well received. Margie, wearing a red hat, receives this love with a huge smile. There are forces in Israel today that do not fall short of everything that is happening now in world pop.
Next up will be "Amusement Park", another song from the EP (or "mini album" as they like to call it today instead of the new "short album").
He too is received with the same affection.
Margie enjoys being on stage, and an entire audience makes him a second voice.

During the evening he also does a cover of "Drivers License", Olivia Rodrigo's big hit - an 18-year-old pop sensation - and here too everyone joins him in singing.
Precisely with the link sections between the songs, it seems that Margie is having a hard time.

"Forbidden", "plus one" and "infected speech" (minus Stefan) are climactic moments in the show, but not necessarily higher than the performance of the new "light purple".
"Thank you that despite the rains and despite everything you arrived," Margie says a little before the end of the show, and it is clear that the appreciation is authentic.
It's really not obvious to fill a performance club in the middle of a rainy and stormy week, but with all due respect to "Carmel" (or whatever they call this storm), the Barbie in Tel Aviv was last night (Tuesday) the hottest place in town.
