For Aldi, Lidl and Co, different opening times apply over Christmas.
In Bavaria, the shops are usually open until 1 p.m. - but there are exceptions.
Munich - What are the opening times for supermarkets, discount stores and drugstores on Christmas Eve and over the Christmas period?
In Bavaria, Aldi, Lidl, Penny, Kaufland and Co are open until 1 or 2 p.m.
But be careful: In some branches, the management determines the opening times - so they can also vary within a city.
One last gift quickly, an ingredient for dessert - and the toilet paper also runs out: Despite the best planning, there is often something to get hold of at the last minute at Christmas too.
If you stand in front of a closed shop, you don't have to panic: gas stations are even open over the holidays.

Special opening times over Christmas: Are supermarkets open at train stations and petrol stations?
While the supermarkets close in the afternoon on Christmas Eve and remain closed over the public holidays on December 25th and 26th, last-minute shoppers have two other options: shopping at the train station or at the gas station.
Individual petrol stations can even be open around the clock.
However, many close by 10 p.m. at the latest, especially small petrol stations in rural areas also switch to card payments over the holidays, and the shop remains closed.
The easiest way to find out where to go to go shopping if the last ingredient for the festive meal is missing is via Google Maps *.
The shop closing law is stricter with supermarkets at train stations and airports: they usually have to close at 5 p.m.
The same applies here: A look at Google Maps helps.
