In Austria, a two-year-old boy who left the house when his parents were not at home froze to death.
According to a report by the »Standard«, the incident occurred in a small community in the Urfahr-Umgebung district, near the Czech border.
The parents had reportedly left the child alone at home and were with the neighbors.
A baby monitor was on, but apparently it didn't work.
During the night, temperatures of up to minus ten degrees prevailed.
Lost in pajamas
The "Tiroler Tageszeitung" reports that the child wandered around in the open only wearing pajamas.
In several media reports it is said that the child was looking for his parents.
The police did not comment on this information.
The child was found lifeless near the neighbors' garage on Thursday morning.
Resuscitation attempts by the emergency doctor failed.
The authorities are investigating suspected negligent homicide.
