(ANSA) - BARI, 23 DEC - The Guardia di Finanza of Bari has arrested Antonio Mario Lerario, director of the Puglia Region (strategy and governance section of the offer and, ad interim, Civil Protection section) in the act of crime. Lerario was arrested after having received, in unabusta, the sum of 10,000 euros in cash from an entrepreneur working in the construction sector.
The arrest in prison took place in the context of ongoing investigations relating to Lerario's activity as manager of the regional civil protection. According to what has been learned, the entrepreneur who allegedly delivered the envelope with money deemed unatangent to the manager, "has in progress - the Prosecutor said in a note - tender contracts for the sum of over 2,000.000 euros with the regional Civil Protection ".
After the arrest in flagrante delicto, the Public Prosecutor will ask for the validation of the precautionary measure and the suspect will appear before the investigating judge to be questioned.
