(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 23 - "Women and men who bear the name of Italy in the world. Today in Kuwait I met our contingent of the Air Force and the Italian Army employed at the Ali Al Salem base. The contribution of our staff here - writes Foreign Minister Luigi DiMaio on Facebook - it is fundamental in the fight against terrorism, especially in light of our commitment to the Global Anti-Daesh Coalition. But also on Afghanistan our militaries have been fundamental: in the evacuation operations from Kabul Italy it was immediately activated, thanks to the close collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Defense, for which I once again thank Minister Guerini ". "In his daily work, our staff put into practice the values of peace, freedom, democracy and respect for human rights, as also underlined by President Mattarella and Prime Minister Draghi in their recent speeches. I wanted to personally thank these extraordinary professionals who work to strengthen the profile and authority of our country, also contributing to international peace and security.
Deeply grateful for what you are doing for our country, far from your affections, even in this period of Christmas holidays ", concludes the minister. (ANSA).
