The Principality of Monaco has announced new information on the state of Charlène.

The princess is making good progress, according to a statement.

But it will be months before she is in full health.

The 43-year-old has been treated in a clinic outside Monaco for weeks.

Before that, she had been stuck in her native South Africa for months.

There was long speculation about her condition.

Local media reported that oral surgery delayed her return to Europe.

After her return at the end of November, her husband, Prince Albert II, spoke out in order to counter the many rumors.

"It has nothing to do with our relationship, I want to be very clear," he said in an interview.

Covid, cancer and the consequences of plastic surgery are also not.

Rather, their condition is the result of several factors of a private nature.

His wife has lost a lot of weight, which makes her susceptible to other diseases.

The palace spoke vaguely of "profound general exhaustion."

To protect her privacy, the palace did not disclose which clinic Charlène is being treated at.

According to the palace, Albert and the couple's two children come to the facility on Christmas days.

Charlène published a drawing of the family in front of a Christmas tree via Instagram.
