(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, DEC 23 - Donald Trump turned to the Supreme Court to block the delivery of the documents requested by the Congressional commission investigating the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6 last.
The White House documentation required by the Congressional Commission, about 700 pages, is held in national archives. Trump's lawyers have always maintained that those papers have a sort of immunity defined as 'exucutiveprivilege' and that therefore they cannot be disclosed also for a matter of national security.
But a series of courts have wronged the former president who has now turned to the highest judicial body, perhaps relying on the conservative majority he shaped with the appointment of three constitutional judges.
