Begin gradually: on the process of pre-separation from diapers
You do not have to part with the diaper in one day - it can be done in stages while involving the child in the process.
What signs to look for in the child and what to do to gradually prepare for a successful parting from the diaper?

There are quite a few approaches regarding the process of parting from diapers.
While some argue that separation is a decision and an act of both yours and the child's, others argue that it is possible to gradually prepare for the process in different ways and prepare the child for the moment when the diaper has finally come off.
Noa Meiri
, a certified behavior facilitator, parenting and infant development counselor, explains the second approach, arguing that the moment the toddler becomes an active part of the necessary diaper change operation is important the moment you decide to break up with him.
If you are thinking about an imminent separation from the diapers, and the child even shows certain signs of readiness such as awareness or a demand for independence in changing the diaper, then you should start with some actions that will eventually lead you to a complete and successful separation.
so what are we doing?

Replace a diaper while standing
Now it is a big priority to change a diaper while standing.
Take off your pants and encourage the child to open the diaper stickers with you.
His participation in the action will help him feel part of it and further develop his independence that will be required later, when the diaper is down.
Let the child experience the feeling of wetness at the beginning of the swaddle.

Encourage play The
process of parting from the diaper will be a complex process for the toddler and is very emotional. Since play takes up a lot of space in children and helps them express feelings or concerns, try to incorporate it right now when changing a diaper. The game has a role in processing the experience, so it is recommended to choose a doll that will accompany you through the process - put a diaper on it and change the doll together.
Emphasize the feeling - dry or wet?
At the beginning of each diaper take off the diaper and feel together with the child: Is the diaper dry or wet? Since diapers today absorb great, the feeling of wetness does not really exist unless pressed hard. Do this together with the child to understand the concept well. This will raise awareness of dryness and humidity and there will be a learning of the child here that will definitely benefit the sequel.
Do you feel that the child is due for a complete separation from the diaper? Will you be mature for all that it entails (endless patience, sensitive reactions, preparation of the environment and more)? Go ahead and remember that this is a process with no defined "success time". It can last longer than you expect and therefore do not compare the child to other children in his environment. Let him know that he is ready to take off the diaper and I will be here with him, accompanying, supporting and containing until complete independence.
The Jama app was established with the aim of addressing mothers of babies from birth to age three, and centralizing for them content, activities, tips from experts and videos that will accompany them throughout this challenging period.
All the content in the app "grows" together with the baby and is precisely adapted to its developmental stages, so that the mothers receive only what is relevant to them and interests them at any given moment.
The Jama app is the place for mothers in Israel to meet and get to know other mothers around them, and create new and exciting friendships in the fascinating journey.
