(ANSA) - ATHENS, DECEMBER 25 - The toll from the sinking yesterday of a boat with migrants aboard the Aegean Sea rose to 16 dead, a few hours after a first shipwreck that caused 11 deaths.
This was announced by the Greek coast guard.
This is the third such incident since Wednesday.
Authorities recovered 16 bodies, including 12 men, three-women and a child, and managed to rescue 63 people as their boat carrying 80 migrants sank near the island of Paros.
A few hours earlier, 11 bodies had been recovered after the sinking of a boat with hundreds of migrants on board, stranded Thursday on an island in southern Greece.
About 90 survivors, including 52 men, 11 women and 27 children, were rescued and evacuated yesterday morning from this islet located north of the Greek island of Antikythera.
