Walkers in the southern French community of Albias found a decapitated body on Christmas morning.
The head of the dead was discovered a few hundred meters away in a plastic bag, as the Montauban public prosecutor announced on Saturday.
They also found the cut forearms a short distance from the body on a country road in Albias.
The dead man is therefore a 31-year-old man.
The investigators are currently assuming robbery, as it was said.
They found puncture wounds in the chest of the victim.
It is believed that the body parts were cut off only after death.
