A violent relationship dispute between a woman and a man in Fürth got completely out of joint on Christmas Day.
According to the police, not only did the opposing party attack officers during the subsequent operation, they were also exposed to aggression from other people present.
The police used pepper spray, arrested five people and issued around 50 additional dismissals.
Local residents had called the police on Saturday evening because of a loud argument between a 27-year-old and her 25-year-old boyfriend to an apartment building.
After their arrival, the police came across a group of about ten people in front of the building.
Among them was the woman bleeding from a facial wound.
No sooner had the officers approached their 25-year-old partner and the alleged perpetrator of the injury when the police officer attacked them.
When the forces arrested him, three other men between the ages of 23 and 34 attacked the police.
Shortly afterwards, the 27-year-old also attacked the officers.
The police used pepper spray and arrested all five.
Nevertheless, the mood remained heated.
Rioted on guard
According to the police, numerous bystanders and newly arriving residents expressed their solidarity with the five arrested.
In the end, 18 patrol cars were pulled together to calm the situation.
In addition, the officials expelled around 50 bystanders from the square.
The five arrested people continued to riot at the police station, and the first tests indicated that they were heavily alcoholized.
Four police officers were injured in the incident, and two had to stop working.
One of those arrested was supposed to be brought before a judge on Sunday because he could not prove a permanent address.
The four other accused were released after the sobering up.
All five are now being investigated for various allegations, including assaulting officials, assault and attempted release from prisoners.
