Report Iss, 48% of school-age infections in the 6-11 age group

48% of school age cases were diagnosed in the age group 6-11 years, 36% in the 12-19 age group and only 11% and 5% were diagnosed, respectively between 3 and 5 years and under 3 years ".

extended report of the Higher Institute of Health (Iss)

which integrates the weekly monitoring on Covid, published today, in particular on the distribution of cases in the population 0-19 years.

After 150 days from the completion of the vaccination cycle, "the effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing the disease, both in the symptomatic and asymptomatic form, drops from 71.5% to 30.1%".

Vaccination efficacy in preventing cases of severe disease remains high: in vaccinated with a complete cycle for less than 5 months it is 92.7%, while it falls to 82.2% in vaccinated persons who have completed the vaccination cycle for more than 150 days .

The efficacy in preventing diagnosis and cases of severe disease rises to 71.0% and 94.0% respectively in subjects vaccinated with an additional / booster dose.

Furthermore, the risk of intensive care for the unvaccinated compared to those with the third dose "is 85 times greater for those over 80;

12.8 times greater for the 60-79 age group; 6.1 times greater for the 40- 59 years old.
