It is a journey of discovery and knowledge in the complex personality of one of today's most read and discussed Italian writers, Susanna Tamaro, that of 'Inedita', the documentary by Katia Bernardi that debuts at the Rome Film Festival in the Reflections section .
The author of Goes where your heart takes you and Anima mundi faces prejudices and preconceptions about herself by opening the doors to her own life and a past full of traumas that began in childhood.
In the documentary, using also a personal humor, the author is candid and direct in talking about the difficulties of life with Asperger's syndrome ("those who suffer from it are terrified of public occasions for this, for example, I always turn out like this rigid on television ") or the impact with the worldwide success of Goes where your heart takes you (15 million copies sold) and the avalanche of criticisms and attacks that ensued, which grew dramatically after the release of Anima mundi .
"I want to show the person I am and have always been because if there is one thing that characterizes me it is to have no mask and no defense" he explains. Thus we see the writer taken by her countless passions such as the martial arts of which she is also an instructor (she is a black belt in Karate), bicycles (which she also loves to repair), animals, the mountains, the countryside, beekeeping and great space is given to the writer's bond with her colleague Roberta Mazzoni, screenwriter and crime writer with whom Susanna Tamaro has lived for over 30 years. For Susanna Tamaro if they hadn't met "I would have ended up in Africa helping the children or killed myself - she admits candidly -. Roberta allowed me to have 100% protection thanks to which I was able to write".
After the success at the Rome Festival, the documentary '' Inedita '' will air on December 27 in prime time on Rai 5. It is produced and distributed by GA&A Productions and was made in collaboration with RAI Cultura and Trentino Film Commission, with the support of the Luca and Katia Tomassini and Montura Foundation.
