And then there is the theme of travel, whether abroad or nearby, is confirmed as an increasingly less popular choice, if only for continent reasons of health emergency, attracting interest only for 2% of Italian families.
For children, however, Christmas is not just family, but also magic and surprise: waking up in the morning and seeing the colorful packages under the illuminated tree is undoubtedly the most awaited gift. But if for the little ones these holidays are joy and happiness, every year adults have to play in advance and take the time to choose and buy the most desired gifts. According to what emerged from the survey carried out in December by Novakid, an online language school for children between the ages of four and twelve, with the participation of over 2,000 parents from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Russia, 62 % of parents are guided in their choices by "letters", while only 21% say they ask their children directly what they want to receive to avoid making mistakes.

Regarding the types of gifts requested, the trend is more or less the same in all European countries:
Lego constructions, video games, Pokemon, consoles (such as Nintendo Switch, Playstation) and toys are among the first wishes of children in all European countries. It should be noted that Italian parents also take books as a gift option, thus combining business with pleasure, encouraging their children to read. But compared to other countries, in Italy as many as 81% of families are convinced that their children are satisfied with the gifts they have received and only 18% think they want to receive a different gift. Another research carried out by Kaspersky analyzed children's interests in different areas: games, music, films and cartoons. The search was done on the basis of anonymised data, such as search queries, popular Android applications and website categories, voluntarily provided by Kaspersky Safe Kids users, with the aim of exploring children's interests and tastes. between September and November 2021. In the period under review, with 28.4% of all queries detected,
gaming has proved to be the most popular topic
on YouTube. The most popular searches of 2021 concerned two new titles,
Genshin Impact and Poppy Playtime, while Minecraft
came in second with 22.4%. The Let's Play series of Minecraft, in particular, was more popular than Roblox, with a percentage of 5.9%.

These queries should make it easier for parents to choose possible gift options based on their children's interests. A super popular trend-based gift, such as the new Vans sneakers, can be useful and there is none. it's the risk that it will go out of style. Even a child's specific preferences regarding games, movies or music provide good ideas for a gift.
