(S +) Leisure stress, overtime, pandemic: Why do I hardly see my friends anymore?

Friendship used to be easier. People cooked, partied or traveled all the time together. Today, weeks often pass between meetings - despite all good resolutions.

Friendships shouldn't be lost between everyday life and career - actually (symbol photo)

It was probably over coffee before work or on the go for a walk.

Looking casually at the mobile phone display, I noticed a saying in my Twitter timeline: "To be an adult means to tell your friends every week 'From next week it will definitely be more relaxed with me, then we'll see each other' until you die."

I felt caught twice.

Far too often I use free moments in everyday life to check the news on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

I write WhatsApp messages or make phone calls less often.

Of course, the wording in the tweet is pointed.

It's not that I never see my friends.

But: I rarely see them.

Too rare for my taste.
