80-year-old retired kills wife with stabbing, thought she was cheating on him

An 80-year-old retiree stabbed his 61-year-old wife on the night between Christmas and Boxing Day in their home in Fanano di Gradara. The woman's name was Natalia Kyrychok, she was a waitress in a restaurant and had been in Italy for over 20 years. Her husband, Vito Cangini, with a clean record, was convinced that she was cheating on him. Yesterday he wandered all day stopping to drink in different places until he got drunk. Last night the owner of the restaurant where the woman worked gave the alarm not seeing her arrive and not receiving answers on the phone. When the military showed up at the house, Cangini admitted everything. Natalia Kyrychok's body was found on the bedroom floor: according to initial findings, the woman was hit by at least 4 stab wounds in the chest.The investigations by the carabinieri lasted all night. Vito Cangini was locked up in the Villa Fastiggi prison on charges of voluntary homicide. The kitchen knife used to kill the woman, who had Moldovan origins and was the mother of a boy who lived elsewhere, was found. Natalia and her husband had been married for 17 years.
