(ANSA) - TOKYO, DEC 27 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange opened slightly the first session after Christmas, with persistent fears linked to the spread of the omicron variant.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.07 percent, or 21.37 points, to 28,761.22 in early trading, while the broader Topix index fell 0.12 percent, or 2.39 points, to 1,984.39.
The dollar reached 114.36 yen in early Asian exchanges, nearly unchanged from New York's 114.38 yen on Friday.
