The police in Saxony pulled a drunk truck driver from the traffic on Autobahn 72.
As the police announced on Tuesday, a witness had alerted the officers on Monday evening because the tractor-trailer had been driving in a serpentine line and repeatedly braked sharply for no reason.
The motorway police then located the truck: it had stopped on the hard shoulder, unlit.
"When the officers approached the vehicle to check the driver, it drove off suddenly," it said.
Then the driver suddenly started driving again and ignored blue lights and stop signals.
Finally, the vehicle could be stopped at Zwickau-Ost.
The 48-year-old driver comes from the Ukraine and had a breath alcohol level of 3.1 per mille.
His driver's license was confiscated and his vehicle was towed away.
The man now has to answer because of the danger to road traffic.
The police announced that he would "at least not be allowed to drive a truck in Germany in the near future."
