Poland: Tusk denounces, 'the government spies on opponents'

Polish opposition leader Donald Tusk said reports of government spying on opponents via Pegasus spyware represent "the greatest crisis for democracy" in Poland since the end of communism. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - WARSAW, 28 DEC - The leader of the Polish opposition Donald Tusk said that the reports on the present espionage of opponents by the government through the Pegasus spyware represent "the greatest crisis for democracy" in Poland since the end of communism.

Last week CitizenLab, a Canadian-based cybersecurity monitoring organization, claimed that Pegasus would be used to target prominent opposition figures, with Polish media talking about a "Polish Watergate".
