Stock market: Tokyo opens higher (+ 0.92%)

(ANSA) - TOKYO, DEC 28 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange opened higher with the investor initiative supported by Wall Street earnings in recent days.

The benchmark Nikkei225 index gained 0.92 percent, or 264.37 points, to 28,940.83 in early trading, while the broader Topix index rose 0.85 percent, or 16.85 points, to 1,994.75.
