Even before the second season of "The Squid Game" was written, the creator of the series was already preparing for the third season of the series.
Huang Dong-hyuk, the man behind the South Korean TV hit, has already agreed to write another season, but it seems he has no intention of stopping there.
In a recent interview with Korean radio station KBS, the creator said: "I'm in talks with Netflix about a second season as well as a third season. We are supposed to sum things up very soon. We know people are waiting, so everyone is working hard to prepare for next season with an optimistic attitude."
Alongside this, Dong-hyuk said he believes the next season will be based on the end of the first season.
"The focus will be on the story of Saung Ji-hoon, while he continues to decipher things. The plot line of season 2 will revolve around the people that Ji-hoon meets and those he pursues."

The screenwriter also said that at first he was not sure if the viewers would want a second season of the series, which took about a decade to bring to fruition.
Now that he has internalized the dimensions of her popularity, he feels it only makes sense to continue telling Saung Ji's story.
"The Squid Game" has been a hysterical success and the most talked about series in the world in the past year.
Along with being the most watched in Netflix history, she has been the inspiration for a variety of Halloween costumes, network calls, news stories and even a real and award-winning "Squid Game" -style contest (minus the killing and death the series presents).
