The Federal Republic of Germany continues to have a firm grip on the corona pandemic.

At a summit meeting, the federal and state governments decided on new rules - also regarding New Year's Eve.

Already last year there were strict regulations for New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve, after all, Germany was in a so-called hard lockdown at the time.

Mainly this had affected the shops that had to be closed.

In the course of this, however, initially relaxed regulations for the turn of the year were withdrawn.

The resolution of December 13, 2020 stipulated that a

nationwide ban on gathering and gathering would

apply

on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

.

In addition, the

sale of pyrotechnics was generally banned

.

Do these regulations also exist this year?

The federal and state governments met again on December 21, 2021 and initiated measures to cope with the corona pandemic.

Firecracker ban on New Year's Eve 2021: What applies in the home garden?

First of all, it should be said: The provisions as we know them from 2020 will also apply in 2022. Specifically, this means: on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day * there is a

nationwide ban on gathering and gathering

. The decision of December 2, 2021 also states: “In addition, there is a

ban on fireworks in public spaces to be defined by the municipalities

.” But what does that mean for the garden or the courtyard entrance? In fact, it depends on the relevant regulations of the respective federal states. So far, however, there have only been a few bans regarding firecrackers near indoor stalls.

Furthermore, the resolution of December 21, 2021 says:

"New Year's Eve celebrations with a large number of people are not responsible in the current situation"

.

A ban on gatherings on New Year's Eve and New Year's has already been decided, as has the ban on selling fireworks.

In addition, it is urgently advised to refrain from private fireworks from residual stocks in order not to put additional stress on the already very stressed health system through injuries from rockets or firecrackers.

Contact restrictions: Can New Year's Eve 2021 be celebrated at home?

From December 28, 2021

, meetings for vaccinated and convalescent people are only permitted with a

maximum of ten people

.

This does not apply to children under 14 years of age.

The

government also

recommends

getting

tested

as a

precautionary measure before gatherings, especially if there are older people

attending

.

As soon as an unvaccinated or non-recovered person is present, further restrictions apply.

How are these restrictions designed?

"Private gatherings in public or private areas, in which

non-vaccinated and unconcealed people

take part, are limited to

their own household and a maximum of two people

from another household." Exceptions to this rule are children up to the age of 14.

And “spouses or partners of a non-marital partnership” are considered to be a household, even if they have different domiciles.
