A negative PCR test is no longer sufficient.
Foreigners at the border must be able to prove, in addition to their negative test of less than 48 hours, a complete vaccination or past infection, the Interior Ministry said after a government meeting.
Foreigners who do not follow these instructions will automatically be turned away at the Finnish border.
This measure was decided by the Ministry of Health to stem the spread of the Omicron variant in the country, where contamination is increasing.

However, there is a list of exceptions: foreigners under the age of 16, residents of Finland, essential workers, diplomats, etc. are not affected.
Health and transport personnel, compelling family reasons or even people requiring humanitarian assistance are also included in the list of exceptions, as well as certain border residents of municipalities in Sweden and Norway.
Some Finns are not convinced by the measure: “The latest assessment of the situation shows that we already have a large number of people vaccinated in Finland,” explains a resident.
So from this point of view, I do not see the gain in closing the borders.
But what is really sad is that there are so many people who do not want to be vaccinated.
