(ANSA) - ROME, 01 JAN - Germany wants to make the G7 unformat "a pioneer of a climate neutral economy and a fair world". German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this, taking the baton from Great Britain for the G7 presidency, as reported on the German presidency's Twitter profile.


    Finance Minister Christian Lindner stressed that "the G7 countries are for freedom, democracy and progress, and with this in mind, we must overcome the pandemic and lead the global economic recovery". With a strong commitment against climate change, the leader of the German liberals wrote on his Twitter profile.


    Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stressed the need for "coordination on foreign policy and security issues" as part of a "reinforced multilateralism", and Germany wants to work to "ensure that liberal democracies remain efficient and effectively offer to people more freedom, security and sustainable prosperity ".
