Goose is a traditional Christmas meal.

Supermarkets now also offer meat for Christmas.

One Lidl customer, however, was more than dissatisfied with her goose.

Neckarsulm - In addition to sausages with potato salad, leg of goose with dumplings and red cabbage is one of the most popular dishes served for Christmas.

All the necessary ingredients, from gravy and ready-made dumplings to meat, are now even available in the food discounters Lidl, Aldi and Co.

The goose no longer has to be obtained from the expensive butcher or farm, but simply relaxed at the supermarket around the corner.

A Twitter user thought that too and then had an ugly experience while preparing Lidl's Christmas leg of goose.

Lidl: Leg of goose with a lot of fat

Hopefully the shock has been digested by now - in the truest sense of the word.

A Lidl customer posts a photo of her Christmas shopping on Twitter - or rather of what is left of it.

On the photo you can see: slimy, white fat with some goose bumps.

She writes: “I've never seen anything more disgusting, 1.5 kg of pure fat on only 6 goose legs.” Shortly afterwards, she decided to do the shopping for the Christmas dinner at the grocery discounter Lidl on Christmas Eve.

She trusted “the wonderful quality of Lidl advertising” and was disappointed.

Lidl: So far no reaction from the company

Lidl has not yet commented on the post, at least on Twitter.

Goose meat is generally considered to be more fatty and rich in content compared to other types of poultry.

This is another reason why the Christmas dinner may be a little harder to digest in retrospect.

Another delicacy of the goose has now been recalled due to bacterial contamination.

Goose is also particularly popular in France.

Foie gras is a special delicacy.

However, the traditional dish is coming under increasing criticism.

The method by which geese and ducks are fattened is considered cruel: several hundred grams of maize porridge flow through a pipe directly into the animals' crops.

This not only calls animal rights activists to the barricades.
