Victor Osimhen will not participate in the Africa Cup with Nigeria.
The Napoli striker is in Nigeria and has had Covid since yesterday, with a positivity that emerged when he was about to leave by plane for Naples for a visit to the operated cheekbone.
Osimhen communicated to the top of Nigeria that he could not participate in the Africa Cup starting on 9 January, a desire understood by the Nigerian Football Federation which in fact renewed the call-ups by replacing Osimhen with Onhekuru, who plays in Greece in Olimpiacos.
The Napoli striker therefore remains in Nigeria waiting to recover before leaving for Naples and resuming training.
