During 2021, the Ministry of Education continued to work on raising the level of education in terms of quantity and quality in order to link it to the labor market, provide the requirements of the educational process and improve its quality.

The Ministry was keen to rehabilitate the largest number of schools affected by terrorism in the various liberated areas according to priorities and capabilities, as the number of qualified schools during 2021 in all governorates reached 2773 schools. The Ministry also completed compensation for educational losses, developed study plans, educational curricula, examination systems and their evaluation, and modernized educational equipment and technologies.

To develop vocational education, a law was issued aimed at regulating its course and securing working cadres that meet the needs of the labor market. The Ministry also launched the medium-term plan for education 2021-2023 with the aim of developing various aspects of the educational system.

In the field of securing and rehabilitating educational and administrative frameworks to fill the shortfall in the educational sector, the Ministry appointed 40,000 successful teachers in the contracts’ competition for the benefit of the directorates of education in all governorates, and 169 demobilized from compulsory and reserve science service of the first category, successful applicants accepted for contract with the Ministry and its affiliates.

During 2021, the Ministry issued a number of books as educational resources and specialized supporting guides, including in the Arabic language, social studies, legal culture guides, and social emotional learning guides, in addition to introducing the national series of the English and French language curriculum on an experimental basis at the beginning of the school year.

In the field of early childhood, the Ministry opened 175 new classroom divisions for kindergartens in 158 primary schools in all governorates. In the field of sustainable professional development for educational frameworks, it also implemented a number of courses and programs, including training 150 of the first mentors and teachers on television training content, 1,800 mentors and 1,000 mentors. A school principal on a sustainable professional development portfolio and 503 TOT trainers to train agent teachers in all governorates benefited, within 3 months, more than 13,000 successful agent teachers in the ministry’s competition.

In order to secure the textbooks, the Ministry printed nearly 40 million copies of textbooks at a cost of more than 12 billion Syrian pounds and distributed them to students and students. It continued to address the dropout phenomenon by providing a number of programs to support the return of the dropout children, the most important of which is the category “B” program, which increased the number of schools that teach this The curriculum includes 2,212 schools, with a number of 90,328 students.

In the field of distance learning, the Ministry opened on the 22nd of last December the Hama educational platform to support compensation for educational losses, in addition to three platforms that have been operating for years, and launched the mobile application, the interactive book, and the first issue of the electronic educational magazine on the 4th of last August, while it was opened on the 18th of December The first is a virtual hall for teaching the Russian language at the Sons of the Martyrs School.

The Ministry’s School Health Directorate continued to implement the emergency plan in the face of the Corona virus through the application of the health protocol to prevent the virus in all schools and launched an epidemiological surveillance campaign to investigate infection among students. On the 13th of last October, the virtual scientific hall was opened in the Regional Center for Guidance, Guidance, Training and Oral Medicine Research.
