In the jumble of Corona regulations, it is difficult to keep track of things.

What is possible, what is not?

And what actually applies to hardware stores at the moment?

Munich - Buy a bucket of paint at a hardware store and give the living room a new look.

Good plan, not just for bad weather.

But who is currently allowed to enter a hardware store?

Vaccinated, boosted, unvaccinated?

The large Germany-wide DIY chains are consumer-oriented and support their customers.

They list the applicable conditions on their homepages.

What applies to which market, which regulation is current?

Hardware store Corona rules - FFP2 is mandatory

"We are there for you and your projects," writes the Hornbach branch in Munich Fröttmaning.

"We will keep you up to date here about changes to your local shopping options." The prerequisite for shopping is wearing an FFP2 or FFP3 mask.

So do other branches in the Free State.

But in January, with the coming omicron wave, something could change.

However, if you want to buy your bucket of paint in Wuppertal, you should be vaccinated or have recovered.

Each federal state has its own regulations regarding protection regulations and purchasing.

And hardware stores do not currently appear in the corresponding list in the Corona Protection Ordinance for North Rhine-Westphalia.

That means: Anyone who wants to shop here in the hardware store has to be vaccinated or recovered.

Unfortunately, unvaccinated people are no longer allowed at Obi, Hornbach and Co. in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Corona regulations in the hardware store: Better to check before shopping

To ensure that the trip to the hardware store is not in vain, consumers would do well to find out more quickly.

Just take a look at the homepage of the site before shopping, clarify the purchase situation and the relevant conditions.

Most hardware store branches have fairly consumer-friendly and clear messages that customers can easily find.

Hardware store and Corona regulations: 2G applies here

The decision regarding protection against infection is in the competence of the federal states.

As of December 28, the 2G rule applies to purchases in hardware stores in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony.

Anyone who has been vaccinated or recovered is allowed to enter.

But there are exceptions here, too: For craftsmen, for example, 3 G applies. The current rules currently also apply to January 2022. However, on January 7th, Chancellor Scholz and the state premiers will meet again to address the situation to advise.

Something could still happen.
