(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 03 - India recorded almost 130 thousand cases of coronavirus in the week that ended yesterday (27 December-2 January), 182% more than the 46,073 infections of the previous week.

According to the Times ofIndia, this is the strongest increase ever since the start of the pandemic.

The previous weekly record increase (+ 71%) dates back to 5-11 April 2021, recorded during the second wave of Covid in the country.
