"We certainly do not discover - explained Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro and Albert Sapere, the three curators of the publishing project - the success of Italian cuisine in the world. What we particularly notice, however, in recent years, is a significant increase in average quality. Gradually the stereotypes and false myths that surround the gastronomic culture of the Bel Paese are fading away and foreigners are thus managing to discover the true Italian flavors even outside the Peninsula ".
An award for Innovation and Sustainability went to the Osteria 57 restaurant in New York while the chef of the year is Massimiliano Sena de Il Lago in Geneva.
