The three teamed up with musicians Ido (Zigo) Ofek, a former member of the spur band, and Avishai Friedler, and together they created a band called "Rashtov" which puts on a musical show for children.
After coming up with the show and seeing that it was good, the band members decided to record an album with the songs of the show, and yesterday they released their first single from it: "New Day".
The album will be launched in a festive show on January 22 with the Tel Aviv team.
"The songs in the show are very theatrical and very appropriate for the stage," says Rieger.
"There's a song about a girl who needs an urgent pee and wants her dad to stop her, there's a song about an aunt from Brazil coming, songs that have stories. I less define myself as a musician or a singer so I bring myself to the show as an actress. And it mostly relies on our strength as a team. "
Zigo: "Joy is a great singer. She's also the best performer there is. You have to see her go out to the audience and pick them up. The kids fly on her. At first we wanted to direct the show to be tighter, but people who saw it told us its magic is terribly natural. And not nice, so we left it like that. "
The songs were written by Zigo and Friedler.
"We created the songs about two years before the Corona," says Zigo, 45.
"During the corona we turned it into a show. The first show was when missiles fell on Tel Aviv, we were in a protected grass area between buildings. From there it grew. After we had the songs we thought of the people who could suit us. I know Joy and David, Kinneret "She's been a friend for a few years, and it felt right to us. We were right, this is the best team for an album like this."
According to Rieger, "When I first heard the songs, I was able to connect with them from the place of 27-year-old Joy. Because these are really beautiful melodies, fun to listen to, and the lyrics are funny. "It deals with issues that are relevant to everyone. Of the five in the band, I am the least experienced in music, but I really like music so I went for it. It is a very fun group and I experience something I have not done in my life. I love it."
For what ages is the album suitable?
Zigo: "For children from the age of 5 to the beginning of adolescence. But it is also suitable for parents, it is an album that parents will enjoy listening to even when the child is not at home. Today the first single will be released, and later more songs will be released.
