Spaniard Joan Barreda Bort (Honda) won the second stage of the Dakar 2022 on Monday in the motorcycle category between Ha'il and al-Qaisumah (north-east), on a 338 km special.
He won ahead of Britain's Sam Sunderland (Ktm) by 5:33 and 2021 winner Kevin Benavides (Ktm) by 5:54.
In the general classification Sunderland took the lead ahead of the French Adrien Van Beveren (Yamaha), author of a sixth place in the stage.
Leader at the start of the stage, Australian Ktm Daniel Sanders now occupies third place in the standings.
Problems for Danilo Petrucci: the MotoGP rider stopped during the fraction due to technical problems with his KTM, but the new wildcard formula will allow him to stay in the race, even if no longer for the positions that matter.
