A stranger apparently attacked a Syrian family on a S-Bahn station in Munich.

The Federal Police in Munich announced that the attack "was presumably a xenophobic background."

The 58-year-old father came to the hospital as a precaution.

According to the initial investigations, the Syrian was walking along the platform on Sunday with his 54-year-old wife and 30-year-old daughter when an unknown man suddenly stepped on the woman's foot.

He also spat at the daughter's feet and racially insulted the family.

Then, according to the information, he attacked the 58-year-old and hit him twice in the neck with his fist.

The man sagged to the ground and briefly passed out.

The attacker fled the scene.

The injured 58-year-old came to a hospital for a precautionary examination.

The police are looking for witnesses.
