This beginning of the year marks the change of several health measures: people positive for Covid-19 whose vaccination schedule is complete "will have to isolate themselves for seven days".

A figure which could be reduced to five "in the event of an antigen test or negative PCR" and on condition of not having any more clinical sign of infection for 48 hours.

People who are infected but not whose vaccination schedule is incomplete should self-isolate for ten days.

The change also concerns contact cases: the vaccinated will no longer have to isolate themselves, while the unvaccinated will have to do so for seven days.

Teleworking becomes compulsory at least three days a week, or even four when possible, in companies where it can be done.

At school, students will now have to perform three tests if a positive case is detected in a class: the first as soon as the case appears, then on D + 2 and D + 4.

It is also from this Monday that standing consumption is prohibited in cafes and restaurants, and that the sale of drinks and food is prohibited in transport: on this point, the government has relaxed the rules, by not banning no longer necessarily to eat or drink.

What to also remember

  • Omicron, less dangerous?

The variant, very contagious, continues to circulate very strongly in Europe.

But patients in intensive care would be especially contaminated by the Delta variant, recalls the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, on France Inter.

“Omicron is less dangerous, it causes fewer acute respiratory distress syndromes.

The need for a resuscitation bed is lower than with the previous variants.

On the other hand (…) we expect to have a very large influx of patients in conventional hospital beds ”, he indicates, before clarifying his point:“ I am not saying that Omicron is less dangerous, I say it causes less sheaves ”.

  • A fire devastates the South African Parliament.

The National Assembly is in ashes, 24 hours after a fire started in Cape Town.

The fire was brought under control overnight.

The extent of the damage has not yet been established, but the grounds of the National Assembly have been completely destroyed.

The fire also attacked the oldest parts of the building which contain treasures: around 4,000 works of art and heritage, some of which date back to the 17th century.

A 49-year-old man was arrested inside Parliament.

He was charged with "break and enter, arson".

  • Jair Bolsonaro hospitalized.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, 66, was urgently hospitalized early Monday morning in Sao Paulo with a probable new intestinal obstruction, interrupting his vacation in the south of the country, Brazilian media reported.

  • Vaccination pass discussed in Parliament.

The deputies are examining this Monday on the bill transforming the health pass into a vaccination pass, which will then be examined from this Wednesday in the Senate.

Its adoption is not in doubt despite a tense climate and the hostility of LFI and the RN.

According to our information, the first radar measuring the noise of motorcycles will be inaugurated on Tuesday morning in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse (Yvelines).

After an approval phase of approximately six months, verbalizations will begin in 2022 to combat noise pollution.

Violators will receive a fine of 135 euros.

A world first!

The radars will be able to detect the passage of several bikers at the same time.

As for the authorized sound level, it has not yet been decided.
