If the last remnants of Christmas are left untouched, make these delicious rum balls out of them.

Plenty of supplies still have to be baked in the Advent season, but as soon as the festival is over, the leftover cookies lie around unnoticed and dry out.

Give cookie scraps a new, delicious life with this easy rum ball recipe.

Use leftovers: You need these ingredients for the rum balls made from cookies

• 300 g cookies

• 200 g chocolate Santa Claus (alternatively: couverture)

• 6 tbsp rum

• 2 ampoules of rum flavoring (depending on taste)

• 100 g chocolate sprinkles

These Baileys balls are so delicious:

they only use a few ingredients.

How to make the rum balls out of cookies

• Chop the cookies into fine crumbs.

  You can do this with a freezer bag and a rolling pin or pan.

• Melt the chocolate Santa Claus in a double boiler.

• Mix the cookie crumbs, rum and flavor with the melted chocolate.

• Transfer the dough and let it cool in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes so that you can process it better.

  But it mustn't get too hard.

• Roll small balls of rum out of the dough and roll them in the chocolate sprinkles.
