Is this the right way to eat an apple?

(@mattydovidz)

Love to eat apples? Who does not - they are healthy, tasty and easy to eat.

But could it be that to this day we do not know how to eat them?

At least that's what Matt Mirl, an American comedian who uploaded a video to Tiktok, explains why he actually eats only two-thirds of the apple at a time and how we can maximize our enjoyment of the fruit.

What's his "trick", you ask?

Well, Matt has shattered the myth of the "core" of the apple, that is, the part that is in the middle and includes the "stem" and the seeds that we do not eat.

Trouble or genius?

"It's a life-changing and helpful trick that will help you save money on apples - because every time you eat one, you throw away a third of it," he said, adding: "What you call 'core' doesn't really exist, it's just the same as the rest of the apple." , He explains and then shows how to eat an apple correctly.

For the purpose of the demonstration he starts eating from below and not from the side as we all do and when he reaches the middle of the apple, he just takes out the seeds with his hands and continues eating until he is left with only the stem in his hand.

It's not clear how serious he is in his video (comedian anyway), but he looks pretty authentic and compelling when he says, "Maybe now you'll stop spending so much money on apples. Now that you know the trick."

Hundreds of thousands watched his video and the reactions were mixed. Some viewers thanked him for the tip and said that the same method could be used for eating pears (and even said that now they could really save money thanks to him). "Suddenly I realized that if I eat a whole apple - I leave the 'core', but if I slice it, then I just manually remove the seeds - then yes! That's right!" Shared another. In contrast many viewers (who took it seriously) argued that the texture of the apple around the kernels and core is more difficult to eat and digest. "You are wrong, the core is different in texture. Sometimes there are a kind of air pockets around the kernels, and the surrounding area is usually as solid as the stem," one of the viewers wrote to him.

Whatever it is - do not eat the seeds of the apple - because it can have a toxic and deadly effect.

Apple seeds contain very small amounts of amygdalin, which is a version of the cyanide toxin that is released when it comes in contact with our digestive enzymes.

At the same time you will have to make a real effort to catch deadly poisoning - this requires the equivalent amount of two cups of ground apple pits
