A curious shipment received from the port of Vladivostok, Russia, shortly after Christmas.
A delivery freighter named the "Sunny Rio" docked to deliver used Japanese cars.
But these were totally unrecognizable because of the thick layer of ice that coated them.
The images surprised passers-by as well as Internet users, but according to the sailors, nothing abnormal in this situation.
"It is December, the sea is rough and windy," explains the ship's captain Piotr Osichansky.
Water splashes on the bridge, it turns to crust.
Nothing suprising.
Unless this year the winds are much stronger than usual.

Normally, sailors remove the ice before the cargo is unloaded.
Sometimes cars get damaged in the process, due to the difficulty of removing such a thick layer.
But as sailors say, transporting cars around the world is a tedious and risky business ...
