To escape the winter temperatures, the shepherds of Bitlis province take their flocks to bathe in the thermal springs of Budakli.
The outside temperature is close to zero, but the water is around 40 degrees Celsius.
The breeders come with their animals to wash and care for them: “We like to spend time here.

Herdsmen believe that water has mystical and purifying powers, and they also rely on such bathing to improve the quality of the milk the animals produce.
They take the opportunity to bathe with the buffaloes before bringing them back to their village located 7 km away.
These thermal springs are covered with snow half of the year, but many locals and foreign tourists come here to purify themselves.
