About 3.5 million students from all educational levels in basic and secondary schools went this morning to sit for the first semester exams for the 2021-2022 school year.
According to the Ministry of Education figures, of which SANA received a copy, 349,230 students are taking exams in about 13,000 schools in all governorates, and the exams will continue until Thursday, the thirteenth of this month.
Director of Guidance at the Ministry of Education, Muthanna Khaddour, indicated in a statement to SANA’s delegate that the quarterly exams are an interim evaluation of the learners’ knowledge and skill acquisitions in the first semester and help both the teacher and the learner to identify strengths to strengthen them and weaknesses to restore them.
Khaddour pointed out that this year's quarterly exams include a standardized English language exam for both the ninth and third grades at the level of each governorate. This standardized exam as it helps in training students and students on the model of the final general exams, as well as training teachers and mentors to develop exam models.
It is noteworthy that the second semester in schools of all stages begins on the 23rd of January.
