Nasser al-Attiyah (Toyota) won the fourth stage of the Dakar-2022, in the car category, of 464 km between Qaisumah and Ryad, following a two-minute penalty imposed, after the finish, on Saudi Yazeed Al Rajhi ( Toyota).
Still leading the overall standings, Qatari Al-Attiyah added 25 seconds to his lead over French Sebastien Loeb (Prodrive), second in this stage, ahead of three-time rally winner Carlos Sainz.
Loeb is still second in the overall standings, but 38 minutes behind Al-Attiyah, following the mechanical problems on Tuesday, when he finished the third stage with only two-wheel drive.
Al Rajhi, despite the penalty, climbed up to the top three of the general classification, 49 minutes behind the leader and just two seconds behind the South African Giniel de Villiers, in the third Toyota.
