Betty White would have turned 100 on January 17th.
But it did not get to that.
On December 31, the US actress died of natural causes, according to police.
On the Internet, however, the death of the series star ("Golden Girls", "Mary Tyler Moore Show") was soon linked to an alleged corona booster vaccination that White allegedly received a few days before her death.
Several US fact-checking portals have now investigated the allegation.
With the result: everything was invented.
The rumor surfaced through an alleged quote that was put into White's mouth by the "CrowRiverMedia" website.
Accordingly, White is said to have told the gossip magazine “People” on December 28th, three days before her death: “Eat healthy and get vaccinated, I was boosted today”.
However, the quote is fictitious, as reported by the portal "The Dispatch".
"The Dispatch" referred to a statement by Jeff Witjas, White's agent, according to which the actress "died peacefully in her sleep at home."
The claims are "completely wrong" that White was not boosted three days before her death, according to Vityas.
On Facebook, posts that had spread the conspiracy myth were meanwhile given a simple note: "False information".
The articles are still available, however.
